5、一些容易誤用的連接詞

either...or、neither...nor和as well as、more than、 rather than、no less than等連接主語時謂語動詞的選擇。

1)當兩個主語由or, either...or, neither...nor連接時，謂語動詞應跟后一個主語的人稱保持一致。

Either you or your brother ___ wrong.這里的謂語動詞就是is，跟your brother保持一致。

Neither my mother nor I was there that day.那天我母親和我都不在那里。

2)但是如果主語后面有as well as, more than, rather than, as much as, no less than等詞組時，謂語動詞必須跟第一個主語保持一致。如：

She as well as her younger sister is a doctor of the mental hospital. 她和她妹妹都是那家精神病院的醫(yī)生。在這里，is是和she保持一致的，而不是younger sister。

The pilot as well as two of the passengers has miraculously escaped death. 機長和兩位乘客奇跡般地死里逃生。

I, rather than my colleagues, am to blame. 是我該受責備，而不是我的同事。
